Based on conversations that he is having with governors in various U.S., he stated that “a clear outline to a 75% to 100% capacity for outdoor U.S. events in 2021 was looking likely to be green-lit.”
To Rapinoe, waiting for a higher bar capacity allows artists to get paid properly. He stated that he’s seeing fans excited to get back to shows (a feeling that all of us at GDE know!) as soon as they get the green light.

Ibiza is set to require vaccine passports as part of Spain’s reopening plan for tourism. The plan includes the Balearic and Canary Islands. After closing its doors at the beginning of the pandemic, the white isle will kick off with outdoor venue events from March 2-16, opening indoor venues that have proper ventilation if cases remain low.
In addition to the passports, tourists have the older option of submit a negative antigen test to gain entry. Spanish Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Reyes Maroto was clear in her intent to maximize the safety of their tourists. “We already have safety protocols in place but we want to take another step to help restart travel as soon as the coronavirus situation allows for it,” she says. Maroto talked in the press conference about the Spanish vaccination plans and their goal of reaching herd immunity by the end of the summer. “It gives hope and certainty that that the second semester of 2021 will be when the reactivation of the tourism sector takes place.”
Down the line, the country plans to extend their vaccine passport protocol to the Valencia, Catalonia and Andalusia regions. Maroto is currently working with the EU and OECD on establishing the best protocols for traveler safety.SOURCE Share0Share0Share0Share0

Electric Zoo postponed their Cancun festival, which was supposed to occur in April. Last June, they announced a triumphant return with the hope that cases would significantly decrease around this time. Instead of a spring excursion to Quintana Roo, this five-day, four-night affair will take place on November 10-14. Per the show’s 100% COVID guarantee, people who cannot make that date can get a refund.
The weekend will feature all-inclusive hotel packages, club takeovers, pool parties, boat parties, and every headliner from the original event including Kaskade, Nora En Pure, Cash Cash Alesso, and NGHTMRE. In addition, Diplo will join the lineup as a powerful incentive for those on the fence about rescheduling their plans for November. Based on their map, we’d say it will be a great expansion of the New York event.
Packages will go back on sale soon, with the same down payment and money-back guarantee. You can register for access and look at the full lineup on their directly down below.
It’s with a heavy heart that we need to re-schedule EZoo Cancun to Nov. 10-14, 2021. Your safety is our #1 concern and we want to deliver what we promised. By now, we have all heard the news. This morning, the iconic French electronic duo that many of us grew up on, announced their split. The two posted a farewell video called “Epilogue.”
If you haven’t managed to see it, the over 7-minute video starts with Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter in their helmets (of course) walking through the desert. They face each other and then part, separating with a robotic explosion. With it, their music run that spanned decades – from 1993 unit 2021 – came to a close.
As if we all haven’t been through enough already, this is news that shocked and saddened the EDM community. But there has been a light of thankfulness surrounding it, as everyone has all come together to reminisce about their greatest Daft Punk memories. All-day, people have been posting their gratitude for the two that inspired them, introduced them to this universe, and brought us all together. See some below from artists that we know and love, many who were influenced by them throughout their lives and careers. And let us know what your favorite Daft Punk moments or music are as we come to the end of an era.
I still remember seeing ‘Da Funk’ on Top Of The Pops and being spellbound.
Roulé was my gateway into house.
The ‘Alive ‘97 in Birmingham’ drew me in even more.
‘Discovery’ for me cemented them as the greatest to have ever done it.
Thank You Daft Punk (Guy Manuel & Thomas).

Boris Johnson, England’s Prime Minister, went on the news today to discuss the regulations regarding lockdowns across the country.
England has been on a yo-yo journey, much like the United States. Right around Christmas, the country went on a stricter lockdown, dictated by zones. It seems that things are turning up for England. The Prime Minister announced a road map to normality. This includes not only social activities, but the reopening of bars, nightclubs, and festivals.
Starting April 12th, outdoor hospitality will be able to resume, including pubs and restaurants. Around a month later, most social contact rules will be lifted. Outdoors gatherings capped at 30 will be allowed, and indoor hospitality – basically indoor dining and other aspects such as the movies – will be allowed to reopen.
In addition to that, outdoor performances with a cap of 4,000 and indoor performances with a cap of 1,000 will be permitted. Bigger sports stadiums will be allowed 10,000 people or can only be a quarter full, whichever is lower
Finally, come June 21st, barring no issues, all legal limits on social contact will be lifted. Nightclubs, festivals, and other large events, such as weddings, will be permitted as long as coronavirus cases, deaths, and hospital admissions continue to fall.
For the UK, there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel. Let’s hope that it all goes well.SOURCE Share0Share0Share0Share0

Pasquale Rotella addressed a growing elephant in the room of his latest Instagram post regarding a couple of upcoming shows: Beyond Wonderland and EDC Las Vegas. In a post announcing official information about their new alien-themed outdoor rave ABDUCTION 2021 in Florida, Rotella made an additional comment below the post about the two Summer events:
As it stands now, the US may not be set to fully reopen its economies until the end of the year. Despite this, some events have been allowed at reduced capacities with public health policies in place. Last year, Rotella discussed floating several measures to try and make last year’s EDC a possibility including pre-festival testing and on-site testing the day of. We’ll keep everyone updated if EDC LV and Beyond are rescheduled to a later date or canceled for the year.

Insomniac is putting on an outdoor rave in Orlando in April, ABDUCTION 2021
The company in charge of Park ‘N Rave bringing an outdoor rave to Orlando, yes like an actual rave where you dance outside. Abduction, happening April 10th, will take place from 5 pm-midnight at Lot 54 at the Vanguard. No lineup has been announced, just the promise of “bass frequencies and unidentified saucer fleets.”
In what is hopefully the tail end of this pandemic, this event is something that we have not legally seen in awhile. With 2021 festivals still getting canceled (Ultra just announced today that the March event is getting pushed to 2022), this comes as a bit of a surprise to some. So far, Insomniac’s major events have been Park ‘N Raves, allowing cars to park in their sections and dance the night away safely.
COVID measures will be taken at this event, in so far as temperature checks and mandated mask-wearing. No negative test results have been indicated as required or anything else. The event is going to be held outdoors. The capacity is uncertain, but GA passes are limited. There is also a VIP that includes expedited entry, a VIP bar, and a viewing pod if you choose to purchase that with your package.
The announcement has received mixed reviews. Florida is a state that has generally been a bit more relaxed with COVID restrictions, so most are not surprised that this is happening there. With vaccines being rolled out and pandemic fatigue building a home with most of us, some are excited about this event. Others feel it is still too soon.
ABDUCTION 2021 Lineup will officially be announced on Tuesday, February 23rd. Limited Tier 1 GA tickets go on sale this Thursday, at 12pm EST, for just under $30.ABDUCTION 2021 Share0Share0Share0Share0

The Netherlands is working on bringing back dance events. Fieldlab Events is hosting a Back to Live pop and dance event the first two weekends of March. The event will be held in Walibi Holland.
Fieldlab Events is an event platform and event building organization that has been leading in event safety since the COVID-19 pandemic began. This pilot event is a way for them to utilize key building blocks of an event to determine the safety of the attendees. Things such as air quality, attendee behavior, cleaning and disinfection, and rapid testing are the building blocks for this festival.
In order to attend, everyone must download an app for communication purposes. They have to show a negative COVID-19 test at least 48 hours in advance. A health statement must be filled out right before the event, and those in attendance must get tested 5 days after. These and other measurements will allow Fieldlab Events to investigate the measures that will be needed moving forward during this pandemic. The goal is for this company to figure out how to organize the future of safe and responsible live events.

You read that headline right. Hakkasan Group, the entity in charge of some of our Vega favorites, such as Omnia Terrace, Liquid Pool Lounge, and Wet Republic Ultra Pool, just announced that starting in March, they are planning on re-opening their day clubs. The hotels have both day pool clubs as well as nighttime club aspects for dancing – Caesar’s Palace, MGM Grand, and Aria.
Each club is opening a bit differently, staying within the State of Nevada’s restrictions for nightclubs and day clubs.
The pool lounges at Wet Republic and Liquid Pool Lounge will open as an extension of the resort pool. This is happening just in time for the Vegas weather to get warm and takes into consideration the demand from the hotel’s guests. Omnia will re-open their operations at the terrace area of the venue as a lounge. This will give guests a view of the famous Las Vegas strip and hang out while enjoying those famous Vegas drinks with your crew or loved ones. The experience is promised to be a beautiful outdoor and socially distant one.
Reservations need to be made across the board, and for the time being, there is no general admission. Guests must be over 21, and as we are still in this pandemic, social distance practices will remain intact as the re-opening happens. The VIP sections will be separated and thoroughly cleaned regularly. Menus, as we have seen popping up at restaurants, will be given through QR codes. As always, continue to stay safe.

Veteran producer and prolific electronic music artist, Nicholas Gunn, is here with a new LP, ‘Sound Condition’. It’s 10-track album full of pleasantries and ambience that is carefully produced and curated to live up the album’s name. He’s enlisted an returning vocalist many fans of Gunn will recognize, Alina Renae. The album is perfectly constructed and is filled with fluidity, textures, and emotions that I would argue is that exact opposite of the emotional ride that was 2020. If we had this album on loudspeakers throughout the globe, perhaps our future would have been shaped differently. In fact, it is exactly what Nicholas Gunn would describe as a ‘Sound Condition’.
If 2020 were to have a soundtrack, it may sound like this. At least to me it does. If 2020 has taught us anything, it is that being in sound condition (in every respect) matters. Sound condition, in its actual definition, means to improve ourselves and our surroundings.
Nicholas Gunn has helped produced and compose over 21 studio album records along with countless other projects that have reached millions worldwide. He’s one of those producers that is ‘genre-less’ as he’s had a hand in producing or composing albums across countless genres. On his own, he continues to push the envelop of experimental and ambient music that continually finds peace and tranquility among many, many layers of complex textures and soundscapes.

New Hampshire-based electronic duo, Delusive Relics, are back with their sophomore album, ‘The Blind Owl’. The album pays homage to their Iranian roots and is their musical take on the self-titled book written by Sadeq Hedayat over 100 years ago. The album’s cover art depicts many of the books characters, themes, and events from the book. The album itself is a culmination of of electronic subgenres that include but are not limited to EBM, synthpop, industrial, and post-punk. A deep dive into the album will showcase a fantasy theme unlike any other audio experience. You’ll find yourself gallivanting through the dark soundscapes that truly capture the masterpiece that was ‘The Blind Owl’. All songs were written by Farhood Nik (1/2 of Delusive Relics) while Anis Oveisi slammed his skills on synthesizers and production.
“This album is a concept album influenced by the Iranian novel masterpiece “The Blind OWL ” written by Sadeq Hedayat, this is about A young man drifts into despair and madness after losing a mysterious lover.”
Delusive Relics came to fruition in 2018 with the release of their debut album, Chaotic Notions, dropping in 2019. It is the brainchild of Farhood Nik and Anis Oveisi, who both draw influences and create music under the guise of older forms of electronic music. Think Depeche Mode, Massive Attack, and NIN, and you’ll truly understand the sounds and style of Delusive Relics.

Helsinki singer and songwriter, GEA, is proud to release her latest single, ‘Truth Between The Lies’ that tackles the current reality many of us face in the workforce. Dark deals in the form of lies and deceit in order to take care or engorge the bottom line of financial statements and line the pockets of corrupt dealers that ultimately decimate the world we live in. GEA aims to take on this issue by revealing the truth that we all choose to not see or continually justify in order to feel as if all is right with the world.
When I wrote this song I had no idea how relevant this message would be now, when it is being released. We can’t pretend that constant lying wouldn’t have a profound impact on our society and souls. Truth is an absolute necessity. Truth will set us free!
GEA at her core is story teller from the North. As far north as you can get most of the time having grown up in Finland. Constantly creating, but not always releasing material, GEA released her debut album in 2017 with a following EP in 2019. She’s toured all over the globe and is continuing her journey as a truth seeker and source of light for those in the dark.
